Complex/Numerous Attributes and the Color Picker

Hi all -
I'm brand new around here, so first of all, thanks to everyone for a great product. I love it so far!

Here's where I'm running into problems, and I'm hoping someone can clear it up for me and point me in the right direction.

I sell tuxedos and tuxedo related accessories.


I'm getting a little stuck with the "Attributes" for a few of my tuxedo vests....
For example, one of my vest lines has the following options:

Color (51 different options - none incur an extra cost)
Size (21 different options - some incur an extra cost)
Neckwear options (6 options - some incur an extra cost)

So I created the three separate Attribute Groups "Color", "Vest Size", and "Neckwear". I created all the Appropriate attributed in each Attribute Group. Now here's where I'm stuck. At first, I used the import feature to import a *.CSV file, but that turned into a huge headache (I was never really sure how to appropriately fill it out, then I'd end up with duplicate attributes in my groups, and then I'd end up accidentally deleting attributes for other items) so I scrapped the "import" idea for a while...

I tried playing around with the Product Combinations Generator...but with that, I end up with THOUSANDS of individual entries on the "3. Combinations" tab for that item. If that's the way I need to do it, then unfortunately, this just isn't going to work out for me...this one vest line has 51 colors x 21 size options x 6 neckwear options for the customer to choose (for a grand total of 6,426 possible combinations!). PLEASE tell me it's not the case that I have to have over 6,000 combinations listed for my item...and THEN, I need to go in and assign Images to each one, and assign upcharges, etc....

(Also, this last try, for some reason, I can't get the color picker to work...it pulls up the name of the color in the drop-down menu, but it doesn't change the photo of the vest to the correct color)

What am I missing? Am I doing something wrong?

...and I haven't even included the Neckwear options yet.

ALSO, you'll see that for some reason when I imported the CSV file, it randomly assigned a "Pant Size" attribute to the vests...although "Pant Size" was listed nowhere in my CSV....

hey where you able to find a solution to your problem? I have the same issue for my site.. need to provide multiple color picking option for a combination.. any help wud be greatly appreciated..

I also saw another attribute module on the Prestashop store recently, but I don't remember the name off the top of my head.
