Images not showing - have checked other threads - please help!

Hi

 

I'm having the dreaded product images not showing problem after upgrading from 1.3.2.3 to 1.4

 

Please note: this is on a test install, I have taken the shop off live mode as I don't want google finding it, but if you want access please let me know.

 

I've tried all the solutions I can find such as:

 

-turning off friendly urls,

-moving images to legacy system

-Chmod to 755

-regenerating thumbnails

-regenerating .htacess

-changed to smarty 3 (with a compatible theme)

 

I can see a url problem since one of my images (for example) is linking to http://www.stormjewelsgifts.com/testing/img/p/3/4/2/342.jpg

 

But when I checked in ftp, there is no img/p/3/4 folder! It goes as far as img/p/3 but inside there is only folders 0,2,3,6,7,8 and 9!

 

I have tried uploading images manually and it works and they show.

 

Does anyone have a solution? If not I may have to reupload all the product images but then I will have a blank image next to each product, (and I have about 2000 products) unless someone knows how to delete all product images from prestashop?

 

I'd be so grateful if anyone could help.
