[Solved] Help! I need to insert small descriptions in grid view.

I needed a lil bit of help again. Basically, my website is almost complete and I just need to insert "Small Description" in my Grid View Display for each product. Please check the attachemnts and you'll know what I am talking about.


Its urgent so please reply fast.

You'll need to insert a code fragment in the product_list.tpl - but doing this will completely screw up your current lay-out, you will need to readjust all elements on the listing pages. So unless you are skilled with CSS, I'd recommend contacting the person that made your template and pay for the modification.

If you still want to do this yourself, the code snippet can be found here in the forum with some searching (I can't remember what it was, but it's not complicated).

My grid view already displays Larger Description.

Oh, sorry, I looked at your screenshot and except for the item name, there was no description at all. So I assumed you wanted to add the short description that usual is displayed in grid view.

I did it. There was a very small modification required in the code. I edited it and it's working now.

Once it is complete I'll forward my site to you. You can purchase branded fragrances on reasonable prices.

Solution:-


Just go to line no 37 or search for the following code in product-list.tpl

{$product.description|truncate:150:'...'|strip_tags:'UTF-8'}

Change it to

{$product.description_short|truncate:150:'...'|strip_tags:'UTF-8'}

I've just added a "_short" in the modified code.

Hope you see your short descriptions now.
