Hello!
We currently have the old and buggy shop that sells all kinds of remote controls, and I want to switch to a good new script such as PrestaShop.
The problem is that the remotes are categorised by brands and also there is a database of all types of equipment (TVs, satellites, etc) and there is a linkage between each remote and equipment it can control. So basically user may search for a remote not only by brand but also by equipment.

Is it possible to implement this feature with PrestaShop?

You can create a Attributes Group like "Equipaments";
So now You can create all kind of equipaments (attributes) you want and set it to Equipaments Attribute group;
Finally, you can use combinations tab to set the right attribute to a product.

I think by the way you are describing you could also just put each remote in multiple categories. So say if you looked in the Sony category you'd find the remote, but you could also put it in the cable category, etc.
