Restricted categories not displaying in BlockCategory

Hope someone can help me quickly with this one. I have a set of categories, all with "Home" as their parent.

I need one of them to be visible only to a certain customer group.

I have set the desired category as visible only to users in the "Wholesale" group.

However, despite logging in with a "Wholesale" account, the restricted category (or any others that are not assigned to the "default" group) fails to appear in the category block.

It should be noted that if I make it a sub-category of another category that IS available to everyone, it appears for my Wholesale group.

Any thoughts?

First thing that comes to mind, is wholesale customer account's default group set to the wholesale group rather than default? Its the drop down above the list of groups with checkboxes.

The back office dialog (unhelpfully) says "Apply non-cumulative rules (e.g., price, display method, reduction)." I'm assuming 'display method' means whether the category will appear or not?

I've just tested this in 1.4.2 and only the categories for a customer's Default group will appear. So you can have a customer in multiple groups, but in terms of category display permissions, Prestashop only cares about the default group.
