Checkout page fields are not saving—unable to complete checkout

Unable to progress through checkout process because fields don't save (will enter info then click continue to next step and all data is erased).

Cleared the cache. Reloaded browser pages. Tried on three different computers. Uninstalled and reinstalled PS Checkout module. No JS errors (or other) in console.

Running PrestaShop v. 9.0.0 with Classic template.

Also discovered that the native PS Cash on delivery (COD) module payment option doesn't show under payment options when PS Checkout is enabled; when disabled, COD shows.

9.0.0 is beta, not sure why PS released and pushed for it's usage.  

you can try this, disable prestashop checkout and see if you have same issue.

if you are not to far along with your shop build consider 9.0.1, I do not  know if upgrade is working totally for 9.0.0 to 9.0.1.

9.0.1 has a lot of fixes discovered from 9.0.0 beta.

Why would you follow through with a update into a unproven PS version? 
Presta likes to use its community to point out their child deseases.

Thanks for getting back. The reason is because the Checkout page is non-functional. I have spent literally a day and night trying to get this working, and at this point I don't see any other option.

tip:  moving forward with ps, you should develop a relationship with a dev through job opening or someone on the board you respect, not me, I'm not offering to paid work, I'm expensive but know the situation you are in...and on these types of issues it's difficult to 'guess' what you should do/learn.

Messaged the links. There are still some browser and mobile kinks to work out (fine on Safari), but the Checkout page—as described at the beginning of this post—gets stuck.

Spent the whole night trying to update—both auto and local archive. I deactivated non-native modules, regenerated email templates, and disabled all overrides.

Here are the consistent error messages I am getting:

It seems there was an issue with the server. This type of error usually happens when: The server is temporarily unavailable. There's a misconfiguration or unexpected problem on the server.

HTTP request failed. Type: ERR_BAD_RESPONSE - HTTP Code: 500

I worked with my hosting provider. They said things are all good on their end and that it is not a server issue.

Ideas? Thanks.

Found the right combo (for me):
1. Must be Local Archive update.
2. Do not disable disable all overrides in Update Assistant.
3. psshipping must be removed from the /modules folder (from a rogue post).
4. The PrestaShop Shipping module has to be uninstalled in the Module Manager.
5. apiplatform has to be removed from the admin123/bundles folder.

Site is functional, though we are still back to resolving the Checkout page issues noted at the top of this post.

from private message I bring into public domain, no where did I say disable it, there should be an upgrade available (also see if upgrade notice in module manager). 

I see several issues, 1) add to cart can fail, I had same issue with 9.0.0 and jumped to 9.0.1, this for client upgrade  2) prestashop checkout has always been an issue, there is update to this make sure you have it

alternative, based on your payment options (what are they?), is to uninstall prestashop checkout, use native ps checkout and install payment modules, for example paypal and stripe.  to be honest over the years I've invoiced thousands of dollars to new client intake with checkout issues, removing ph checkout or other 3rd party checkout always solved.

what I did not say in private but probably up above, there are major issues fixed in 9.0.1...I suspect there will be another release 'very' soon to solve some other major issues.

1)  create a subdomain and create a staging copy of your current shop 2) back staging copy up 3) try to upgrade to 9.0.1 using prestashop upgrade module.

this is your best option...tip: also when you search for issue you are having frame it 'prestashop github (describe your issue), you will not be first person to have it and mosT often you will find issue already reported in github.  The forum is good place to have someone hold your hand but ps devs do not monitor or participate here.

I removed PrestaShop checkout.

For payment methods, I want to have: PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and COD. Zelle would be a welcome add-on, but there doesn't appear to be an option available.

I downloaded and installed the PayPal add-on. Not many choices and I am unable to have a credit card option in the Checkout window, which I want. There also appears to be a default 'buy now, pay later option' showing up that I don't want and can't get rid off.

Checkout page transitioning between steps is still functioning horribly.

I'm sorry to keep beating this drum, but 9.0.0 is not going to work for 'anyone', I still have the add to cart issue, when I tested checkout same issue, won't hold inputted data.  Look you don't have large number of products, you should abandon 9.0.0 and either go to 9.0.1 or better yet 8.2.3.  I'm sorry this happened to you (shopify this be done and running in two days).  9.0.0 is kaput, should never have been released as it was to world....I don't know what ps was thinking or if they were at all.

Also ehrlich, wenn ich das so lese, klingt das nach einem typischen Session- oder Cookie-Problem. Irgendwas speichert die Daten halt nicht richtig, wahrscheinlich durch Domain-/HTTPS-Mismatch oder ein Modul, das dazwischenfunkt. Ich würde erstmal alles außer dem Standard deaktivieren und schauen, ob’s dann läuft. Wenn ja, nach und nach wieder einschalten, bis man den Übeltäter findet. Oft ist’s kein „großes“ Problem, nur so ein kleiner PrestaShop-Zickenstreich.

As mentioned in an earlier post, I was able to do the update. Or are you saying that I need to abandon this build and start over in 9.0.1?

BTW, does PrestaShop have a feature I am not aware of that would allow me to go in and globally change fonts and colors the way Translations allows the change of text copy?

When say disconnect everything, do you mean both custom docs (like a custom.css file I created or modified template I put into a child template) as well as all modules? Something else??

see github, there are major issues accepted on 9.0.1   when I had access to his front end, he can share here if he likes, console had lots of errors, I only was looking at prestashop  checkout continued disaster.

no ps does not have this feature.  abandon ship or go to 8.2.3, you have not acknowledge yet the add to cart issue, I am testing a migration to 9.0.1, it has that issue which was also present in 9.0.0.  until there is a 9.1 stable ps9 should be  'avoided'....good luck, I'm jumping ship.
