Prestashop 9.0 Fresh installation - No possibiity get admin log in

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I use Presta in the last 10 years. Today I decided to try the new version 9 . After all the set up needed on my host I installed smoothly the new version without any error.

The store front works great  see pic. The admin log in page does not see pic.

Looking at site root I see the well know admin folder  but its name is admin plus a long sequence of other characters like admin786jfhfklsldff.

Trying to point to the folder I get the message showed in the picture. At the same link try to point the installer at the end of the process.

I m used to rename the admin directory name after installation for security reasons but I didn't in this case so the directory name as Prestainstaller created it.

I ll appreciate any suggestion.

Boris

Hi Boris,

Presta automatically renames the admin after install, so this is expected behavoiur. What error message do you see when enabling debug mode? And what PHP version do you use?

Had similar problem with presta 8.2, and the reason was - i didn't delete 'install' folder after the installation. When deleted 'install' folder - everything worked fine.

Hi JBW,

Thank you for your time

I can not enable debug mode at least from admin panel because I can't access to the admin panel and or using the link showed in the pic above.
I had the same issue both with PHP 8.2 and PHP 8.4

@darkin Thank you . It is the first thing I did and I do when I install presta, I delete the installation folder.

I am also getting this error, exactly the same. I did a fresh install using web host Cpanel installer Softaculous. cannot find 'install' folder in the root directory and get the exact same error. Clicking on 'Enable Debug Mode' does nothing.

@rickyluong

I gave up. I also open a ticket on presta developers and they was not able to reproduce the error so they closed the ticket without further investigation.

Did you use the new theme or the classic one? I was wondering if it is related to the Hummingbird theme I choose during installation but to be honest I didn't try to reinstall ps9 choosing the classic theme.

Cheers

You can enable the debug mode from the code files as well. Need to edit the config/defines.inc.php and change the "_PS_MODE_DEV_" to true.

Then share the error coming on the screen.

Couple of weeks ago installed ps9 on WAMP hummingbird theme. Everything was working fine. Today tried it on LAMP same hummingbird theme, and ... Front is working fine (php 8.2 on localhost), but trying to connect to back office, error "the requested url was not found on this server"..

Higher mentioned option to get debug mode is not working. maybe more lines to put to "true"?

on WAMP it was with php 8.2 too. LAMP is a bit more complicated for different php versions, will see what is available (btw, presta 8.2 is running fine on same localhost).

Anyway thanks for trying to help

Hello, I have the same problem with version 9.0.1 - 1.0. Using Debian 12, PHP 8.4, Apache2, MariaDB.

Can anyone help me? I have already tried reinstalling 0 as well as version 8.3 of php, same problems...
