Query over adding Click to Pay to my Prestashop store 1.6 ?

I got an email from Global Payments (who all payments go through from manually typing card numbers on to their system via my PC) and they said Click to Pay is coming soon and it is mandatory. My Prestashop store is version 1.6 and does this mean I will have to add this to the checkout even though I just type in the card numbers once a customer uses the checkout (they are encrypted in the back office using a module called Offline Credit Card) ? So they don't directly go to Global Payments, they are manually typed. 

This following paragraph that was within the email is what concerned me............

Due to the security advantages of Click to Pay, it’s a mandatory requirement, unlike Apple Pay and Google Pay that are optional additional payment methods. Failure to offer Click to Pay to your customers at checkout as a payment option may result in you incurring penalties and you may experience disruptions in accepting card payments.

Does anyone know any more about this ?
