Three days ago, I received a message from my server provider stating that PHP version 7.1 will be deprecated in the coming days. So, I made a copy of my shop version 1.6.1.20 along with the database and installed it on a testing environment. Then, I simply switched the PHP version to 7.4.33. The shop is running without any errors on this version... So, for testing purposes, I also switched the live version to PHP 7.4.33 -> no errors, neither in orders nor in payments... Can someone explain how this is possible? Everywhere I read, it says that this version 1.6.1.20 only runs up to PHP 7.1... Did I overlook something ??? Thank You something?
