New Products Block not showing

Hello,
I am posting this here in the hope of getting some help:

after resetting the New Products Block ... it does not show on page! I tried to deactivate and activate it again but nothing changes.
In Design > Positions this block seems to be activated and at the right place.
In database the 'ps_module' table has field 'active' set to 1 for this module. 

PS 1.7.8.6, module version 1.0.1

How can I bring it back on page??

Did you reset the prestashop cache and browser cache as well?

Yes, I did, but it does not show up even after resetting cache

Do you have new products on the site? Try to increase the number of days for which the product is considered new, maybe that's why.

Update, after finding my "problem":
Without going trough all my struggle, "my problem" was that I was using the Duplicate product button because the main difference between the products is the title and picture so I couldn't be bothered to write all and everything again and most of all, the Combinations (as there are a few, same for all).

So, in duplicating one product, Prestashop 8.1.2 also duplicates the product_add column (date) value in product_shop and product MySQL tables thus all duplicated products were the same "age" and this was the reason they would stop showing in New Products module.

I'm not sure about this implementation from Prestashop guys, should a duplicated product be considered same age as the original or a new one ? They decided: same age.

Is there a workaround for this instead of going into the database and updating product_add value ?

Maybe I am doing/thinking it all wrong but I really don't wanna manually enter all product details when, as mentioned, the only difference is picture and name. For me, for future operations, I'll just modify the source code to use current date. Peace.

I just experienced the same problem. I made copies of some products but they wouldn't show up. After a day of grey hair I found this post and I was able to solve the problem with new products not showing. To have a more bulk attitude rather than changing all products one by one I highly recommend Musicmasters Prestools where you can filter out all products you would like to change the creation date for and then set the date for all at the same time. It is such a nice tool and it's free. Anyway I liked it so much that I bought the extra full package to be able to handle more things. Just download Prestools from prestools.com.

It's not the most intuitive tool but once you get over the first question marks, the sky is the limit;-)

P. S. But be careful. It is very powerful!
