[SOLVED] Customer's order message at checkout

Hi there,

I think I've tried almost everything to get this working. 
When a customer is at checkout, he can add a message to the order that for some reason is set to private = 1, in the database table ps_customer_message.
I'm trying to figure out where I can change this to private = 0
The default value for the column is 0.

I want customers to be able to see this message in order history in My Account, but it only shows messages there that are not private.
The private option is there because the shop owner should be able to add comments that the customer should not see, right?
In My Account -> Order History - One can add another message to the order, this one is registered correctly with setting private=0

Any ideas?

running ps 1.7.7.5
