Website gone after renaming gamification module

Hello Experts,

Recently I have problem gaining access to the back office, despite entering the correct email address and password. A password reset also did not work as there was no resetting email sent to my registered email address.

After searching for the solution in this forum, some people suggested renaming the module/gamification. I renamed that folder to "igamification". When I went to the BO home page, this error message appeared. See attached. So I changed "igamification" back to the original name "gamification". However the error message is still there. Later I discovered my website was also similarly affected, ie. the website is totally gone showing the same error message, even though nothing has changed other than renaming one module, and all the files are still intact.

How to resolve this? Thanks a lot!

Delete Cache?
There is a difference in the Prestashop versions!

  • Prestashop 1.6 just delete the ./cache/class_index.php file
  • Prestashop 1.7.0> 1.7.5 just rename and delete the folders  ./app/cache/dev and ./app/cache/prod
  • Prestashop 1.7.6> 1.7.5 just rename and delete the folders ./var/cache/dev and ./app/cache/prod

The module must be uninstalled first.

Then the cache must be cleared.

Hi Tengler,

Just tried deleting the gamification module via FTP but it does not work. See attached. Do I need to change the permission first or?

Many thanks for helping!

Hi Tengler,

My issue is I'm not able to delete this module. at 755. After I pressed delete button, the module is still there. It refuses to be deleted. Any other way to delete it?

Man, this is a two-minute question.
Do you even know how folder permissions work?
Did you see the .htaccess file in the ./modules folder?
Do you have permission?
If I don't know how your permissions are set, I can advise you here for a week!
