Is there a way to add carriers on checkout-delivery-step?

I'm trying to develop my module where I display my own carriers. I've been looking in the documentation and found that hookActionCarrierProcess is triggered in that step, but it says nothing about displaying the carriers. I also found the displayCarrierList hook is deprecated, how else can I do this?
