There was an error while extracting the module (file may be corrupted)

Prestashop version: 1.6.24

If I try to install some random module it works fine but, if I try to install the Google Sitemap module I get the following error:

2 errors
There was an error while extracting the module (file may be corrupted).
Module Google sitemap cannot be upgraded: Error while extracting the latest version.

There was a similiar error a while back with no solution:

I tried to download and install it manually from here:
https://github.com/PrestaShop/gsitemap/releases

but it doesnt seem to work

Is there a way to install it manually or does anybody know how to fix this problem

Did you try to extract the zip locally, and copy the module folder to /modules/ on your site?
