Theme compatibility with Ver 1.4

Hello,

There are a few templates that i'm interested in that are listed for ver1.3. Right now, there are very view options for Ver1.4. How different are the 2 versions? I'd like to purchase http://addons.prestashop.com/en/animals-pets/1859-animals-and-pets-tm30979.html, but I don't see how to contact the developer to see if it will work with 1.4. Should I just try to find a 1.4 template or is it likely that a ver1.3 template will work with ver1.4?
