entering web-address referrer with a double web-address

I'm not sure where to put my question. 

For some reason when you enter the web-address in the address-bar, it changes to ex.: 

• web-address.com -->  web-address.com/www.web-address.com/

I am unable to log into BO so I have only ftp and DB access.

Anyone who can guide me how to address this problem? What can I do to stop adding to the already written url? or at least overwrite it!

start by posting real url address so we are not having to guess so much,  helpful to know what you might have done to break it...

in db, search for shop_url, what is there.....

facts, pie charts, how to recreate, ps version, put some effort into your posts so people can help

Thank you El Patron - In my ignorance, I thought it was a known issue and easy peasy to put a finger on. Sorry - and thank you for pointing that out.

I figured it out myself. I could log into phpMyAdmin and change the the [_shop_url]'s {physical_uri} to "/" instead of the name of the domain.

Then I could login to BO and the site worked again.

Though the images had disappeared from other devices: - I had to clear the browsers Cached images and files to get a candid look on my work-space (no images)

I went to BO --> Preferences --> Images to [Save] Images Generation Options - ....and everything was perfect again!
