  1. I really should read things. Yes, that seems to fit the bill for what I'm experiencing Dan
  2. Hi I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. I didn't get an alert about the post and I've been really busy. The problem remains, it seems I've checked the search indexing, to the point of manually indexing as it takes 4 hours (is that normal?) The reindxing does seem to work, but it's just not maintainable to to run a 4 hour index every day Any ideas? Dan
  3. Hi I hope someone can help me. My client has a database with nearly 8,000 products and when they add new products, they are not being correctly indexed. Sometimes products will appear in the resuts, but mostly with newly added products, they fail to return in the search results Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks! Dan
  4. Hi all Regarding the original post, the designer[mostly] and I have found the issue: It's a complete change of the templating system! Not only has the Back Office changed but the way scripts are loaded has also changed How did this manage to get an X.X.X.Y revision? The functionality has changed warranting at least an X.X.Y.0 release. Do you guys know versioning works? Or how templates shouldn't be affected by core upgrades? The fix for custom templates is to go to Advanced Parameters -> Perfomance -> CCC and change the setting 'for move JavaScript to the end to Yes. It worked for us I certainly hope V1.7 embraces the MVC framework a little more closely Dan
  5. Hi all Hoping for a little bit of help here. I've just used the Auto Upgrade to upgrade from 1.6.0.6 to 1.6.0.8 and have noticed that none of the javascript is being loaded Not even the core JS files Anyone have any ideas on what to try? The original site is at babyjacks.co.uk and the upgraded site is staging.babyjacks.co.uk Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Dan
  6. Hi all I'm not certain if this is the same error that I'm having, but if not I'll created a new thread. After upgrading from PS 1.4.7.3 to 1.6.0.6 I've noticed that not all of the categories are displaying in the Back Office. The main categories show, but only 5 or 6 have subcategories, but they are empty. All other categories show no subcategories at all The thing is, in the Front Office everything is displaying fine; all categories and products are visible and accessible If anyone would care to take a look I can PM details to a testing site I have running I would very much appreciate some help with this as, naturally, the site owner is wanting to add/adjust his inventory but can't Thanks in advance Dan Edit: No Firebug console errors; green across the board
  7. Hi guys Thanks for the response. Firstly, I was trying to avoid using the legacy filesystem; In future upgrades it could cause ongoing issues (similar to this one but a further layer apart) The browser time was cutting out at 8 minutes; Not enough to process all images I did, however, manage to figure this out. I added FcgidBusyTimeout 3600 to the vhost.conf and it turned out to be the magic directive. I processed the images separately (not using 'all') and the smallest amount of time taken for processing was 21 minutes. The large images took ~45 minutes. Yikes! I'm sure not all sites are as massive for images as this one but it does seem that a batch or on-demand thumbnail generator might be a consideration for those upgrading Anyway, all fixed and thanks for the suggestions, guys! Dan
  8. Hi all I'm having a bit of an issue with a Prestashop that has been upgraded from 1.4.8.2 to 1.5.6 and I'm having issues with the thumbnails in FO. The problem arises when I try to regenerate the thumbnails: I get a timeout no matter what I try. Here are my configuration details max_execution_time = 30000 max_input_time = -1 memory_limit = 256M As the server is running FCGI I've also applied the following directives: FcgidIOTimeout 12000 FcgidConnectTimeout 7200 FcgidProcessLifeTime 8200 These settings don't allow the thumbnail generator to make it through the first category. The site in question has around 44,500 images (it's a labour of love for the owner) Is there any other way of generating these thumbnails? The current system doesn't seem to be too efficient on large sites Thanks in advance Dan
  9. Hi Dave It isn't the browser cache; I clear it regularly and just did so to check then. Still the same. Incidentally, all site caching is off and the template is forced to recompile (temporary) The site does have some modules installed but I doubt they will be conflicting (mostly stock-control and working with mass orders). The template is custom but based on the otiginal Presta one. None of the code that drives the sidebox has been altered and no cart/shipping modules have been installed If you would like to view the site it's at http://staging.ohsewcrafty.co.uk/ . It's a test site at the minute until I can get this sorted. If you have the time and care to take a look I can create you an Employee account Cheers Dan
  10. Hi Dave Thanks for your response Yes to all 3 of those questions. When I get to checkout the options are available for either UK or Europe (correctly according to my account address), so they must be set up correctly. It's just the cart block; the client is [naturally] worried that people will see no shipping amount while browsing then be hit with a charge on checkout The Presta version is 1.4.8.3 if that helps at all (and at this point upgrading isn't an option unless essential) Cheers Dan
  11. Hi all I'm having a bit of an issue with something that should be fairly easy. My client wants the following ranges: United Kingdom: £0-£10: £1.95, £10-50: £3, >£50: FREE Europe: £0-£10: £3.95, £10-£50: £8.95, >£50: £20 I've set up the zones, ranges and prices but the Shopping Cart block seems to show spurious results with regards to the shipping. If I log in using a UK account the shipping in the cart updates fine. However, if I log in as if using a European country (e.g. Germany) I get a shipping cost of £0 applied regardless of the cart amount. If I then go through the checkout procedure to the shipping page the cart block updates with the correct amount and if I continue shopping it will continue to update correctly Can someone please assist me with this? It's driving me crazy! I can usually fix most things but this one has me blindsided Thanks in advance Dan
