Massive discount vouchers

How can I generate great quantities of discount vouchers at a time? obviously all the vouchers with the same discount amount, but different and unique code. An example: I would like to create 200 different discount codes which give a 10 % discount, to e-mail them to 200 costumers or potential costumers. I would appreciate any help on this question. I imagine you might have to do this in the back-end database, but I'm curious why you would take this approach. Of course, I always begin by asking what version you are using, since I am only familiar with 1.4x.

In 1.4x, you can limit "qty per each user" when the voucher is created. This limits the "number of times a single customer can use this voucher." That way you only have to e-mail and track one code.

Obviously, you may have a good reason to generate unique codes, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this functionality.

Thank you for your reply. I am "using" the 1.3.6.0 version, although I have not it installed yet. My web developer is still working in the website. It is a question of seve-ten days everything is ready and I can learn how to use the backoffice. My approach of generating unique codes of discount it is just because I think that each code should be different to the others and not predictable ( I mean, for example, they should not be correlative numbers) to avoid any other people, apart from the single costumer who is given the voucher, to use it.
However, your tip is usefull. It is a simple way to get to a very similar result. Thank you very much. I will try to simplify and apply your advice.
