Special Symbols Question

I was using a ® symbol under my English translations tab for the "Categories" field. It worked and looked great.
But, I needed to change the symbol to the ™ symbol. When I made the change, it doesn't seem to appear.
When I refresh my browser to see the chgs, I can see it for a brief second before the font chgs to the Helvetica/Header2 option that is set in this template.

Any ideas???

Also, it does work within the home page editor module and all other pages, but it just doesn't seem to be reflected in .php titles.
