separate shipable items from non-shipable? sOLVED

Hello, as a first time user of PrestaShop I've been impressed with its inherent flexibility. I recently installed v 1.7.4.3 on my Linux server to manage both on line and walk in sales from our farm. Since many of our items (cheese, milk etc.) are very perishable, yet I'd like all of them to be advertised on our web site, is there any way to prevent a customer from ordering perishable items and allowing them to be shipped? It seems that merely informing them that this item cannot be shipped in the description field is inadequate.
