adding combination, attributes/groups

Is there a faster way to add attributes and groups and combinations?
I have a dozen products which each have 50 patterns.
I have to add 50 pictures first of the product, then i have to add 50 patterns with picture and then I have to link 50 pictures with 50 patterns, this is a very time consuming and boring job.
Isn't there an easier way to do this?
