Unable to change order status

I am currently using version 1.3.2.3. I changed servers from windows apache 2.2 to a linux lighttpd while also upgrading from 1.3.1. I was able to change order status once and as far as I can remember I made no other changes before doing another test. I also don't have any products shown in the order tab.

I have tried a fix in another thread except for installing navicat because to be honest I am a mysql/linux/prestashop noob so before I went that route I want to make sure there is nothing else I can do
I downloaded and switch with another adminorders.php and that gave me a button to bring the products in and to change order status but I then can not input a tracking number. I have been searching for other answers but can't find any. My windows install works with out flaws. Thank you very much!
