Automatic price/stock updates - Attributes price being overwritten

Hi - I have implemented a means to update stock quantity via csv file (including) products with attributes.

Next stage is to try and update price by the same means - and am running into big issue with attribute prices.

All prices are set to display excluding VAT/Tax. I have set price on products info tab for products with combinations to zero and made all pricing for these on the combinations tab. On doing this originally both prices in product list and product detail page were showing product with attributes prices after deducting Tax amount from the correct price. The code change below correct product list price.

Changed

$price += $attribute_price;

to

$price += ($attribute_price + ($attribute_price * ($tax / 100)));

This prevented price in product-list from being displayed ex-vat. However on the product page all prices initially flash up correctly, then changed to show price minus VAT from a price that already excludes VAT! When added to the cart the items are priced correctly - see images.

Has anyone got a solution for this - otherwise I'm STUCK!
