PayPalAPI Translation Problem

When I go to Tools >> Translations >> Module Translations to change any of the paypalapi translations nothing changes in the User Interface, nor do the translations show up in the Module Translations display.

This is a real nasty problem because /modle/paypalapi;/payment/submit.php laves our customers with the impression that all we accept is PayPal.

I know that a Bug Report has been submitted for this but is there any workaround (even a hack) that I can implement that will allow me to change the default text strings being displayed by the submit.php module.

I want to change "You have chosen to pay with PayPal." and "We accept the following currency to be sent by PayPal:" to something like:

"You have chosen to pay with Credit Card or PayPal." and "We accept the following currency to be sent by Credit Card or PayPal:"

I went in and changed the two .tpl files where these strings appear and loaded them up on the server and NO CHANGE at all. How weird is that?

Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on?
