Edit template

hi,

I's developing a module that provides the management of some information that should be displayed within the address.tpl template.

Now for view the informations I must insert a new hook within the template 

In these cases what should you do?

- When installing the module, do I have to (where there is a way) to determine where the template is about the active theme and to modify it from code by trying to insert the hook into the template in the position I expect?

-In the module installation notes, do I need to manually install the module?

-Other?
