Is it Possible to Require Gift Wrapping?

Hello Community,

 

Begging your pardon in advance for my ignorance, I am a NOO-OO-OOB, totally lost..  I have read all the threads in this forum pertaining to Gift Wrapping and still no luck.

 

Has anyone ever tried to require the Gift Wrapping Option in Prestashop 1.6?

 

My store at www.promatespost.com does not offer gift wrapping.

 

Even so, I would like to enable the Gift Wrapping option, modify the translations and use it for something else.

 

However, for my purpose, I need to make the Gift Wrapping checkbox - in the shipping step of checkout, mandatory or required in order to continue the checkout process, exactly like terms of service.

 

Any thoughts or direction will be greatly appreciated?

This is my first post, and I apologize it was so vague... some more detail:

 

My store is located at https://promatespost.com

 

During the shipping step of the checkout, I need to add three additional checkboxes stating that customer:

 

- accepts $4.00 service charge

- accepts $2.00 transaction fee

- accepts $2.00 gratuity

 

I have accomplished this using the Prestashop module "Custom Checkout and Customer and Address Fields manager"

 

However, since the customer is accepting additional charges by checking the boxes; I need for those amounts to show up on the next step of the checkout process (Payment), reflected on a separate line and calculated as an additional amount into the total sale.

 

Moreover, the one thing I do know, is that I know nothing; not even where to begin to make these adaptations.

 

And so, in my infinite noob wisdom, I noticed that if I enable the Gift Wrapping option, I can set the additional cost of $8.00, and when the customer checks the box; the additional amount is magically calculated right into the total at the Payment step, exactly as I need.

 

Consequently, if I could somehow change the properties of the Gift Wrapping checkbox, and make it a "Required Checkbox" (Like the terms of service); then in theory, all I would need to do is modify the translation files, some thing like:

 

- I accept the service charge, transaction fee and gratuity.  I understand there will be an additional $8.00 included in the total of my order.

 

And voila..

 

Ah but alas, so close... and yet so far... again, I have no idea how to go about changing the properties of the Gift Wrapping checkbox, to make it a required checkbox (like terms of service).. Lol, I thought I was pretty good, and I feel USELESS!
