John madden
Hello I am trying to change settings of my products but the changes are not applying. Example i try to change the dimensions of a product but the changes are not applying: here i set it to 21 but when i apply the changes, it returns to 20 I tried emptying the cache through prestashop and manually by deleting the contents of cache/smarty/cache and cache/smarty/compile but it did not work. What can i do? I have urgent changes to do on my products as of now.
John madden
Hello, correct me if i'm wrong, the product i try to change the characteristics of is a single product, not a combination of products. What do you mean by feature? Thank you
John madden
As i am using a french version of prestashop at the moment, i do not understand what the feature and combination mean in french. I tried making a test product and the issue is still present. I can not set the language to english in the option. Which tab is it on the screenshot? John madden
Est-ce que ce sont les parametres a changer? J'ai activer l'option pour les déclinaisons mais le probleme persiste. John madden
Hello, i have spotted another issue. It seems i can't add or remove carriers. When i try to move a carrier to the right and hit apply changes, the changes are not applied. I tried emptying the cache and everything but nothing. Is there a setting for products i missed? Or for the carrier?
John madden
John madden
Is there a way to see from which product another product is combined from?
John madden
Just tried making a combination but it didn't work, the changes i make didn't apply, what could possibly cause this issue? Server side problems? Database issues? Edited March 12, 2016 by John madden (see edit history)
John madden
Ok thank you, i will do. Is it possible to directly modify the database through phpmyadmin? I require to do some urgent changes to products and would like to be able to do these changes by hand in cases the backend system fails me like it is now. I can get access codes for it. John madden
I just had a look at the tables and i noticed something. In the ps_product_carrier page, i can see one of the product having two of the carriers that are used to deliver this product, as defined on paper. The carrier setting for that product are correct, yet prestashop shows that one of the carrier is not active for that product, while the other is. Does this confirm it is a cache issue that the prestashop tool isn't updating as it should? I did try to change cache settings, delete the cache and all that. Do i have to do something else that i haven't done yet? I did another test with the name of the product, i changed it, the change is applied in the database, but not updated in the prestashop tool view. John madden
Hello the site owner refuses to allow me to do that. Is there another way we could do this?
John madden
By the way the tools worked fine before the 1.6.1.4 update.
John madden
The previous version was very slow and the slowness is gone in this 1.6.1.4 version

John madden
Ok so after doing some tests, the settings i set in the prestashop tools do get carried over in the tables, and the tables are modified correctly, but the tool's view doesn't get updated correctly, and i don't know why. As of now, all the settings i needed to change have been changed successfully, but the view isn't getting updated properly. In some items, the carrier boxes get updated properly, but for most items, it doesn't get updated. I can continue working on this site. By the way where is the product quantity saved in the database? I can't find it anywhere in the products tables. Edited March 15, 2016 by John madden (see edit history)
