Webshop and Catalog view in one Store

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Looking help to understand if what we need is doable at all.

Due we have different business directions where one is rather B2B and the other is webshop we would need to have solution where there are 2 different catalogs on the website/shop.

Shortly if I navigate main menu then besides everything else there are 2 links:

  1. Product Catalouge
This is for B2B customers (accessible for all) but due the products are mostly customized and cant be sold as individual units we want to have only catalog view here so our B2B customers can see some general info about our capabilities and general product overview. For example there will be product called "Cusomized uniform" but in general its not product but just info of what we can do, have done but to buy it we need to make individual quote...
  2. WebShop'
This is traditional webshop with only products we cam sell via web. Eg. can be gloves, hats or similar products what we have in stock. Catalog and Shop have different categories so nothing is copied.

We could use categories but we cant turn it down to catalog view as shop will be disable for all.

Multistore is not something wich is for this ?

Thank you in advance.

I like idea of multishop or two separate shops so you can present content differently to two different cliental.

Here is first module I wrote....that puts shop in catalog mode unless ones is signed in, that works with multi-shop, i.e. enabled on one but not the other.

I see only module setting but i need to see how the catalog works. I needed solution where i have one website/shop and two different catalogs where as one is in catalog mode another is actual shop.

I thought the topic was multishop, one catalog mode (unless signed in/approved) and another non catalog mode for non-logged visitors...sorry if I mis-understand your requirements.
