Multilanguage but remove default /de/

our clients wants to remove the default language in the URL.

 

Now:

www.domain.de/de/link.html

www.domain.de/en/link.html

 

Needed:

www.domain.de/link.html

www.domain.de/en/link.html

 

 

How can we achieve this?

why do you think having the language in the url is an issue.

 

if you remove it, then how will your multi language shop be indexed properly by search engines, how will site map work when it builds the multilingual links?

 

the only think I see wrong with it is that it's not using IETF, i.e. en-us/en-uk/es-es/es-ar...maybe someday.
