Can't add images to products

I use prestashop 1.3.0.1 and it has been working good for days ...but from one day to another I can't add images anymore

I can't add any image to a product. It was working yesterday and days before, but now I allways get the:

1 error
error while creating additional image

This happens if I add a new product and then I try to add an image to it.

Also happens if I edit a product to change or add image.

I have reviewed all directory permissions several times.

I don't get any error on the server logs, none at all, I just get this prestashop error everytime.

I host in my own dedicated server, have plenty of space, and database is ok (no tables crashed).

I also tried upgrading to SVN version but makes no difference.

It makes no sense that this stops working from one day to another without having changed any config on server or prestashop.

I am very confused about this.

The way of fixing the problem is reinstalling prestashop ... I reinstall, re-import my tables data and it works ... sometimes it works fro a day or two, and this last time it has worked for a whole week!!! .... now is back again to this nasty behaviour ... can't add any image to any product. Now I allways get the "Can't add additional image" even when I add an image to a product that doesn't have one.

I amb running latest CVS version, But I amb having this problem since the 1.3 alphas. Makes no sense to work perfectly for some days and then it gets stuck and something blocks prestashop from adding product images. I can add category and subcategory images, but can't do nothing about the products

Please help ... I have reinstalled/upgarded prestashop 1.3.X many many times, and upon reinstall, reimport, it works good for some days .. .then it breaks itself again with no errors in logs, nothing, just the prestashop onscreen message.

Hi,
Check the image size. I have found that if the image is too big, you cannot add images. I would resize them in a photo editor to 640x480, then try it.

No, it's not an image size issue. I have tried all. Now I can't add any image to my shop products ... any ... will have to do it again, reinstall/reimport and wait until next time it blocks again.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I just had the same thing in version 1.4.5.1 on a local installation and restarting MAMP fixed it. Must be some sort of server mischief?
