You have created a PayPal account on PayPal? What type of account? In the paypal module have you added the PayPal API details?

Guest
Prestashop 1.4 is very old for a new store. Has the store been set up for a while? The PayPal is also old and should be upgraded. PayPal made some changes a while ago so the old version of the module no longer works http://addons.prestashop.com/en/payments-gateways-prestashop-modules/1748-paypal.html
mandapanda
Oh ok. No it's a new store. We mentioned to a friend that we wanted a website and as he does a lot with them he gave us the basics and a user manual! What do you recommend? Can we upgrade the PayPal module or do you think we should scrap it and try on a later version of prestashop? Is that link to upgrade PayPal? Thank you
Guest
If it is a new store I don't understand why you would have installed version 1.4. Did your friend install it for you? 1.6. something or other is the latest build and is a lot more modern in it's feel and operation. I would think about upgrading but a lot will depend on your own personal circumstances The link was to download the latest version of PayPal module which you then install on your Prestashop
mandapanda
I've not installed anything. He gave us a link to the store which is www.sizl something. I think maybe we should start over. I've not made a website before so I thought the info we were given was fine
