mynewborn
My website is loading slow, sometimes it takes 15 seconds or more. Is there a way that I can check which modules slows down my website?
djpat99
I had problems with site speed and tried all the "free" options without much success. If you are using the default theme that is. The one thing that did make a massive difference was the PageCache module that does cost some but my server response time has dropped to 0.4 seconds average. I had checked the CCC setting were as advised by other Prestashop users. Also image size is something to look at. I made my images large to keep good quality thinking that the website re scales them anyway so it wouldn't make much difference but I was wrong. If you look at the website on a large screen "Inspect Element" and hover over a picture you will see the natural dimensions of the image. Compare that to the actual scaled and served version and if it is bigger - it is too big and making up a whole load of extra bites you don't need. I was battling for a while and found the above 2 things mad the biggest difference. Have you run the site through Google's page speed test? That will give you some clues as to whats taking up time! mynewborn
Hi, Thanks for the answer. I did the Google page speed test. Server reaction time: 2,6 seconds
djpat99
Mine used to be around the same. Sometimes up to 4.5 seconds. Page Cache has reduced it to around 0.4 seconds so is a big saving.
