shop not send mail when client confirm and order & ¿ can put a background picture in my theme?

hi , i am new in prestashop

I put my shop and test it , all its working but i have two cuestions

when one client make a order . why the shop not send me a mail ?

the mail its correct configured , but not send me a mail with the client confir and order

 

whell the second cuestion

i use at the moment the original theme

default-bootstrap version 1.0

but I go in the adminitartor panel for customize it and can not update to put a background imagen

is it posible ?
