brohemath
I have spent a lot of time making a shop using Presta, however some of my payment gateways would not allow me to use the domain I was on. So I have started a new domain and do not want to have to do all that product information again. Is it possible to export my entire shop and put it on the other domain? Both Presta installations are on the same Server but in different diretories if that helps. I tried "export theme" but that did not bring the products with it. In addition have a lot of catalog settings I wish I did not have to do all over again on the new installation so being able to copy the entire shop would be ideal. El Patron
another option is to clone your exciting shop into the new domain space. then modify/customize for that domain.
El Patron
in addition of course you can visit category and product pages, select and export. You could then import to same version of ps on other server. See your back office for more detail. You can really export a lot of stuff from existing to 'other' ps and would be safe to do if ps versions are same. brohemath
thank you for the response. If I export the category pages will the permissions of the existing website be transfered with them? What I am concerned about is I have member only price listings in some of my categories so I don't want that made public if I would have to manually put each product into the private category after importing that would take some time. I was hoping there was an easy solution that would export all of my settings into the new presta shop installation. Both installations are on the same server just in different directories and I have already exchanged various files rather easily in Cpanel from one directory to the other. I do not see an option/tab to export on the categories pages within the Presta Editor. only Themes under Preference>Themes>Export theme. what do you mean by visit the product pages? within the Presta editor or the URLS of the pages themselves? brohemath
Would moving the folders within the other build to the folders associated with the new domain work since they are on the same server? if so which folders should I move into the other Presta folder in the other directory to move all the category and product settings? El Patron
it's basically the same as cloning a shop for an upgrade. There are loads of tutorials, here is one: https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/313999-tutorial-how-to-clone-your-shop-for-upgrades/ this will give you advice on how to clone a shop....what you do with the clone is up to you
