rbw
Hi, I am a new user and have been have been learning to use csv files to set up my store. The Product file works fine, the Combination file works ok as well. I am using version 1.6.0.14. During my learning I accidentally added a couple of weird Categories, so I tried to format a Categories csv file to be able to repair the problem. I tried to use csv update, selecting to delete the existing categories, but completely failed in rebuilding the Categories. So I set up the categories and subcategories manually. Now I am happy that the Categories and Subcategories are rebuilt - with the same names as previously - but now my Product file does not load properly. I can see that Products have assigned their Category to the default category, but on the graphic screen there is no tick corresponding to the category on the graphic tree. If I click on the associated category graphic to create a category (like I do when I manually set up a product) I get an error message that says "This product must be in the default category." I am a little confused because the product csv seemed to work fine before I tried to repair the Categories file. I have tried to rebuild the indices, but it does not seem to work. Please help Regards, Robert

rbw
Hi, I have given up on repairing the shop. I reloaded the whole prestashop application onto the server and rebuilt the shop. But this time did the catagories by hand.
