Guest
What cache settings have you set in Preferences > Performance. Show us a screen print of that page To be honest though I would not worry too much about speed at this stage, get your site sorted first with some products. Get rid or change all the banners so they are relevant to your website. So make the site yours first, then look at speed improvements
El Patron
if at all possible contact your hosting provider and see if they can change from windows to a linux...
las3r
Windows hosting is never a good idea for PHP, it's less stable and usually windows hosting is oversold (+ you pay for expensive server licenses indirectly). I would suggest moving over to somewhere else than godaddy (it's reputation is .... not that great). I can point you to a number of hosting companies that allow a quick (1 second) loading site for less than 5$/mo.
El Patron
re, the move to non-windows has already been posted. most people that post about Godaddy are well not so informed, I mean GoDaddy invented unlimited domains on one hosting.you should be fine on linux of this vps plan..godaddy leveled the playing field for hosting, from one of my host states Arizona, world your welcome. Please know some of my best friends are godaddy haters but I still love them.

yay
Is both the front-office and back-office affected by this? Turn on dev mode and see if there any missing files that's causing the slow load speeds. Enabling it is quite easy: On your server, open the /config/defines.inc.php file. Find this line: define('_PS_MODE_DEV_', false); In this line, change "false" to "true". Save your changes. Now reload any blank or suspicious page: you should get a lot more information.
El Patron
my feeling on recommending web hosting is to find one that specifically states it supports PrestaShop. for example: https://www.prestashop.com/en/ecommerce-hosting/inmotion-hosting I know many use that. There is also the PrestaShop cloud. @las3r, thanks for your help in community it is appreciated. as for godaddy, I'm an old timer and remember when we had to buy a hosting account for each domain. Then godaddy offered unlimited domians, this changed hosting paradigm and benefited us all. I will state while I have run ps on gd I no longer do so. I now run dedicated fully managed on liquid web. happy prestashopping

All I'm saying is that I know of some hosts that require some special treatment when it comes to things like .htaccess files (Dreamhost is another one of these exceptions), and sometimes permissions are included in the riddle of setting things up. I use my own bare metal server with WHM+Cpanel - my friend is providing management, so I can just enjoy the fruits of not having to worry about these things as CPanel just works™ Happy PS'ing!
