Restricting Customers to Categories

I've searched high and Low on the matter and I can not seem to figure this out.  I need to show only one category for a customer. But I need the sub-categories to display.  Customer "Team 1" should only have access to category "Team 1".

 

 

I have setup Groups like so.

• Guest
• Customer
• Customer
• Team 1

 

I added a new customer and set the Group Access to ONLY "Team 1"

 

 

I have a basic category structure like so...

 

• ROOT
  • Shoes
    • Products
  • Hats
    • Products
  • Team 1
    • Gloves
      • Products
    • Masks
      • Products
  • Team 2
  • Team 3

 

 

Under the category "Team 1" I set group access to "Team 1"

 

When I login as the customer, I see the category "Team 1".  I need it to show "Gloves" and "Masks".

 

If this possible?
