Walrus
How do I setup Prestashop so that it automatically updates currencies? I'm going around in circles. I followed the instructions on the Currencies page and pasted the URL in Cron Jobs in cPanel but it doesn't work. TIA. Walrus
It's easy to setup as long as you don't follow the instructions in the Currencies page to the letter. I did and it didn't work. Here's what did work after some trial and error: Make sure your host uses GET or cURL commands, then do the following: Copy the URL in the Currencies page Login to your cPanel Open Cron Jobs Choose Common Settings Paste the copied URL in the Command box Surround the URL with quote marks (e,g., "yourURL") Prefix the URL with the word curl (e.g., curl "yourURL") Click Add New Cron Job Your command should look something like following: curl "http://www.yourDomain.com/yourAdminDirectory/cron_currency_rates.php?secure_key=yourSecureKey" Edited May 16, 2015 by Walrus (see edit history)
Ableson
Hi Walrus, Thanks. Sometime if anyone’s hosting doesn’t support Cron, or its Cron service is crap. You may try this tutorial https://www.easycron.com/cron-job-tutorials/how-to-set-up-cron-job-for-prestashop-currencies.
