Elizabeta
Hi everyone, I'm having problems importing a csv products file. In my first attempt, I used supplied sample of csv file and changed categories of products to categories that i have and links to images. I kept getting an error Product Parameter - no name. After several attempts, I tried importing the supplied csv file sample, but this too was returning errors such as 'no ID' and 'missing field' eventhough no fileds are missing in supplied sample file. Any ideas?
JoelWebsites
Hi have you checked that the csv is matching the colum name?( you usually get an option where you wil need to select the colum name from the drop down)
Elizabeta
yes, everything is matching. I think the problem is how excel saves .csv file - something gets messed up there
JoelWebsites
Even i use .csv but it generally works fine...can you turn on debug true On in config/defines.inc? And disable third party modules?..and disable overrides as well.. AdvanceParameters>> perfomance >> debug >>
Elizabeta
which program are you using to import/generate csv files?
JoelWebsites
prestashop backoffice advance parameters >>CSV. Can you try on a fresh prestashop installation on xampp or wamp server? You can even try seeing videos on youtube about this So that you ensure you do it correctly.. These videos may be useful..
Elizabeta
Thanks for your efforts, I really appreciate it, it's just that those things you are suggesting are not the answer to the problem I'm having. I know how to import/create a csv file, that's not the problem. As I mentioned - the moment the file is imported into MS Excel and saved as CSV, eventhough it is identical to the sample file provided as example of product csv file by presta (all fields the same, no changes, everything is the same) the import is not working. It goes through the process up to the point where you see the table with your file entires. But when you want to finalize the import - it's failing. That's why I asked you which program are you using to generate csv file.
Guest
Try openoffice. It is free and handles csv file much better than excel https://www.openoffice.org/
Elizabeta
I'll try that Ron, I was hopping to get away without that but it looks like I have to do that. Thanks...
