Add to cart button doesn't work

Good day everyone

 

I googled this topic already but still cannot find the answer. I have opened my online shop, it worked for a while then - boom - and add to cart button stopped working. if i click on it no products are added and the card is empty. also weird that when i try to log in into my account in the front office, the site just reboots without logging in. 

 

I upgraded to the latest version ( 1.6.0.08 or smth to the latest) and it messed my site so bad than i had to roll back. BUT! after the upgrade add to cart button worked. 

 

I will highly appreciate any help as i am a newbie in creating online shops.

just cleaned whole browser history, cookies and etc. and it started working. how to avoid such problem in the future? why it happed and will it influence the customers?
