landing page makes shopping cart malfunction

Hello guys,

 

I need some help with this.

 

The thing is that I created a landing page named welcome.html  for my fashion brand's website because I wanted to add extra content other than the shop.

 

I successfully editet the .htcaccess file with the following code: 

#Alternate default index page
DirectoryIndex welcome.html

It all seemed to work until a client tried to add a product to their cart. A syntax error showed up whenever we tried and i don't know what else may stop working with the landing page enabled.

 

Is it that I need to add extra code to the html file?
