sesumiloa
Hi there, Just wondering if someone can share their workflow for product uploads. For instance, I have CSV/.XLS from my suppliers with all of the products listed seperately, including similar products with variations in colour, size etc. on each line. Many of these products have url's for image upload for each of these variations which is very handy BUT manually sorting, combining and filtering these products before uploading is a very time consuming process. Is there a way to upload all the products and combine the same product type's with all their combinations afterwards? N.B. With Store manager I can create cobinations and then apply them effectively to multiple products afterwards but this dosn't work so well for images relating to colour selection etc. and still requires deleting 40% of the products in the CSV, creating variations (combinations) and applying them later. Many thanks,
Iryna
Hi With Store Manager for PrestaShop you can import products together with combinations and upload images to the combinations. Like you have mentioned, each variation takes separate line in the file and has image. Then follow this tutorial and upload combinations with images to your store - http://www.prestashopmanager.com/useful-articles/how-to/how-to-set-different-images-to-prestashop-product-combinations/
sesumiloa
Thank you Iryna, That's great but I'm a little confused by the instructions there as it makes no mention of Product Name etc. Does the main Product Name repeat down a column or is it left on the first item in the column with the rest remaining blank (similar to 'reference' in the example)? Also, is the reference the same as ID or my reference? If it's my reference is the ID column left blank for the import to create it's own ID on import? One last thing, is the combination reference set by me to be applied on import or does this already need to be created as a combination? Many thanks
Iryna
Hi, Details, you include in the file depends on whether you create combinations for existing products or create products together with combinations If you already have products at PrestaShop and want to create combinations for them, it is enough to provide product IDs in the file and select ID as identifier for products. (in the import wizard you see fields for product identification and combination identification). To create new combinations for existing products, you should have their reference in the file and select reference as identifier correspondingly. Combination IDs serve for combination update. It means, if you already have products with combinations and want to update these combinations (quantity for example) you can use their IDs in the file. Also, is the reference the same as ID or my reference? If it's my reference is the ID column left blank for the import to create it's own ID on import? IDs of products as well as combinations are created by PrestaShop itself, you can not force ID creation with Store Manager. It means, if you import new products with new combination, you can not use your IDs. That's great but I'm a little confused by the instructions there as it makes no mention of Product Name etc. Does the main Product Name repeat down a column or is it left on the first item in the column with the rest remaining blank (similar to 'reference' in the example)? It is not necessarily to repeat name or reference in each row, you can leave these fields blank for combination reference. You can also use this tutorial on combination import with Store Manager - http://www.prestashopmanager.com/useful-articles/tips-tricks/tips-on-how-to-import-prestashop-attributes/
sesumiloa
Thank you Iryna. So what if I want to create products together with combinations? This is how my xl looks but this spits out two products, one with with two pictures, both with no attributes. What am I missing?
Iryna
Try to map the fields in Store Manager as following: Reference(file) to Product Reference(store manager) Manufacturer's SKU(file) to Combination Supplier Reference(store manager) Product Reference(file) to Combination Reference(store manager) Quantity(file) to Combination Quantity(store manager) Combination Images(file) to Combination Images(store manager) Attribute groups, category correspondingly Combination Reference do not assign to any field. Choose Product Reference as identifier for products and Combination Reference as identifier for combinations
sesumiloa
OMG! You're brilliant. Thank you so much. Now to see if I can apply this method to the other 7,000 products in the spreadsheet. Wish me luck!
