Slow front office and slow back office

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am a prestashop clueless novice.  Just started having issues today, The products have disappeared in the back office with Safari, they are there in Chrome but the site is really really slow front and back end.

I haven't added any modules recently have just been updating products and pricing.

Not sure if I am optimising  performance, I have attached screenshots just incase.

But the problem started today.  Having said that I did have a problem with the backoffice in Chrome awhile ago so I switched to safari as reinstalling terrified me.

my website is http://www.rideit.cc

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

You will improve 'front office' performance by setting performance 'Move javascript to end'.  (2nd screen shot in original post)

Typically when both front and back office is slow, it's hosting and/or a module that interacts in both (untypical).

To get more detail of what processing is taking place in front/back offices then you can enable PS profiling (then visit slow page/s)  and review info at bottom of page.  Note when enabled all visitors will see this in front so capture and disable.

open file config/defines.inc.php and set to true

define('_PS_DEBUG_PROFILING_', false);

Hi El Patron

thanks for your post, I haven't opened the file config yet as I just talked to my web host and found out the as I installed Prestashop with an autoinstaller (Instrallatron) it was set to automatically install minor updates so I'm now on 1.6.0.14 which I think is where the problems have started (I have turned the auto update off)

I'm using Leo Shoes theme and I just checked the compatibility is up to 1.6.0.8 - so not sure if this is a problem as the backend problem seems to be the product catalogue, when I open a tab the save and stay and save buttons spin for a long time, then when they finally stop it takes along time to actually save.

If I reinstall the auto backups I assume I lose any sales or changes I have made to the website?

Should I reinstall a backup or open the file config or is this a major bug with .14 which might be sorted soon?

Sorry I really feel I'm in over my head

Hi I don't know of any signficant issues with 1.6.0.14 but I don't have the time really to keep close enough tabs but I don't see a lot of activity in forum for 1.6.0.14...and that is a good thing...we are using 1.6.0.14 for customer upgrades...with much happiness.

so I take it your front office is satisfactory speed wise yes?

if you would like to check out a 1.6.0.14 running one of my performance modules you can take back office for a spin here

happy selling, Fred
