Different module in each category

Hello, good afternoon . Took several days trying, but it still fails in any way. On my website I have five main categories and I want to show in the left column a module completely different with html content. I would not only be seen in that category , also in its subcategories and products that are linked to that category and its subcategories . I've tried adding a conditional in the .tpl module , but works for me . Any help?, I 'm using version 1.6.0.6
