How to set Newsletter value by default to 1

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how I can set the Newsletter value by default to 1.

 

I am not using the checkbox (I have commented that part in the order-opc-new-account.tpl)

(fyi - In my country it is not illegal to subscribe people to newsletters)

So I am not looking for the code to set the checkbox to "checked".

What I really want is to set the value to 1 by default.
