Massive repeating imports block the server, your opinion!

Hello,

one of my customers makes bulk import several times per day using the import procedure of Prestashop with CSV files. Prestashop is version 6.

Each import consists on 3000 products with 4 images associated each one. When he launches an import, the system stucks, mysql increase load average and the server blocks or sometimes mysql goes down.

I want to ask if it's possible to do several import during the day with 3000 products, considering the server is a dedicated cloud server with 2 processors and 4 GB RAM. Only one site is on the server.

I wonder if mysql can handle this load, considering the innodb table indexes and the ID of the products' table which is at the moment 1687226013.

 

Opinion or suggestions would be very appreciated.

Just curious - why is he doing a product import with images?  Are these new products each day or is he trying to update only a couple of attributes?

 

Mysql itself should easily handle this. Seems to me the problem is with the server. Have you reported this problem to the hosting company?
