thomassss
Hi, I'm supposed to manage and maintain a prestashop ebusiness. Since two days, we have a pretty nasty trouble with front office. I turned on the debug report : Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'unable to write file /srv/hosting/clients/h3297/cache/smarty/compile/dc/3e/ed/wrt54be95ec09f2a8.55362377' It appears without any ftp manipulations, so i thought it was an issue from the hoster, server side... But they don't really cooperate. So, i suggest to the owner to migrate to a new and serious hoster. But anyway, the problem still occurs. I tried to set chmod at 777 to smarty folder recursivly, but it did not resolve anything. I thought to empty smart cache folder, but i don't have ssh access and it is very very long with ftp. If anyone have an idea or can have a look. Thanks in advance. Thomas
El Patron
I had similar write issue with smarty issue on new server when running php as apache module, I switched it to my preferred fastcgi and that issue went away. also make sure to check error log from hosting control panel and look for mod_security error messages, mod_security is typically set up for wordpress but can reek utter chaos for Preastashop and other move complex cms. thomassss
Hi, And thanks a lot for reply. I actually tried to delete part of the compile folder. And it works. So it appears to be the file count limit from server... Thanks
El Patron
make sure to reset the 777 you did earlier, you never, ever want that level of permission. as for file count, if this is true, then it will happen again soon enough.
thomassss
yeah true, i plane to reset 777. i'm pretty sure it is file count, i found some solved posts with this solution. And delete some of them resolve it.
