Partial Refund Help

Hi,

Someone made an order through my shop and paid through PayPal. One of the items that was ordered I don't have in stock anymore, so I was going to give a partial refund on the item (I haven't done this before). So I went to the order, pressed partial refund, scrolled to the refundable product and typed the whole price of the item in the amount box, scrolled to the bottom of the page and pressed Partial Refund. It then refreshed me back to the order page with seemingly no confirmation that I had made a refund, so I clicked partial refund again to see if it had gone through and look at the order section again and next to nearly all the items in the 'refunded' column it had a 1 there, and a MAX 0 in the amount  column. The credit slip has a minus next to the items as well, so I really don't know whats going on, has it refunded for all the products? Also my PayPal account, which still had the money in, has not been deducted at all.

 

Please help and advise me as to what has happened and what I can do,

I make a partial refund, it shows as its done, except it does not refund the transaction through paypal.
