Webservice Key Removed Itself

First time posting here, but I found a rather confusing bug with my version of Prestashop 1.6.0.8 and I don't know where to begin.  I set up a new webservice key and was testing it out in the browser with the different resources using schema=blank and suddenly the key vanished.  I checked the BO and checked the MySQL DB and the key and all of its settings were completely gone.  I find this rather off putting when I haven't even begun developing my app.  How can it be there one second and gone the next?

can you tell  me what if any caching is turned on here:

 

back office-->advanced parms-->performance

 

scroll to the bottom

 

is file/apc/mem cache enabled?

 

if so try disabling, update webservice and retest

Actually it was turned off.  When I checked the setting it was on File System, not mem cache.

 

I was wondering if I had actually hit Ctrl-X instead of Ctrl-C while copying the key in the Webservice options, but I didn't hit save, I just left the page.  So even if I accidentally cleared the field, it shouldn't have saved it.

file system can result in unpredictable results   especially at module install/uninstall..

 

did you turn off file system and retest?
