Wrong shipping cost shown to customer - need help ASAP!

Recommended Posts

I just received an order from a customer in Canada. I have set an international shipping cost for Canada. Yet the system calculated the shipping the same as the one within the US, which is $10 less than the actual cost to ship that weight to Canada. I'll still send that order out and take a loss, but I need to fix this issue ASAP.

I have two zones set up: USA (for the US and all territories) and International (all other countries). Even though Canada belongs to North America, the USPS shipping cost is the same as sending the package to Australia. So, Canada had to be separated from the US anyway. Prestashop original setting had Canada and Mexico set as North America, but the shipping costs to these countries are very different than for the US.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me figure out how to solve this problem. Thanks!

Well, I purchased a localized shipping module and had to set up the prices for my carrier so the customers could estimate the shipping cost to their country. A new carrier was automatically added to my carriers and all I needed to go to the BO -> Carriers -> disable Status, leaving just the original carrier active, the one I had before I got the module. This doesn't disable the module and doesn't show a second carrier option at the checkout.

I found this out by registering as a new Canadian customer and then checking out. The checkout showed the correct International zone shipping price and also the US one, so obviously a buyer would select the cheapest option (US). I tried to disable one carrier at a time, refresh the checkout and see what happens. Then I could see which carrier has disappeared from the checkout, and then verified again if the module works properly with that carrier disabled. Hope this all makes sense.
